Frequently Asked Questions

When will you launch?

Our first app is available! Check it out.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! Our aim is to always have a free version of each app available to play with.

What about music copyright?

We work in close collaboration with artists. We will never use music without explicit permission of both musicians and their labels.

What is your business model?

We will offer in-app purchases in the future.

Will Mixblocks be available for Android? And Blackberry?

Mixblocks will soon become available for Android devices. We are not considering other operating systems at the moment.

Is Mixblocks compatible with [Device X] ?

If you have an iOS device, give it a try! You can download the app for free. When you run into trouble or bugs, please let us know.

Who is your target audience?

Mixblocks is aimed at youngsters with no experience with music-making.

I'm an artist, can you make me an app?

Absolutely! We are still a young and growing company, so our capacity is limited. But feel free to contact us.

Can I use my own samples in the app?

Nope. This would make the app too complicated for inexperienced users (our target audience).

Will I be able to load my iTunes library into Mixblocks?

This is not our primary focus. There are many other apps for that already (like djay).

Can I export/share songs as an MP3?

No, in that case we would be violating copyright. However, you can share your mixes with other Mixblocks users.

Will you also include jazz/metal/rock/[genre] samples?

Yes. However, we are focussing on electronic music at the moment. Electronic music can be easily integrated into the app, which means we can focus on building a huge collection of samples for you to play with.
